Ekweremadu Loses Elder Brother In Car Crash Elder brother to the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, Prince Chukwuemeka Ekweremadu, died on Friday after a fatal car crash. Prince Chukwuemeka Ekweremadu died in a fatal road accident along the Enugu-PortHarcourt expressway in the night of Friday, December 21, 2012. He was 52 years old and married with three children. Prince Ekweremadu was a Director with the Enugu State Civil Service and his last place was the Enugu State House of Assembly. He was also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFUND. His burial has been fixed for December 29, 2012 at his country home in Anekeorji Mpu, Aninri Local Government Area, Enugu State. Senator Ike Ekweremadu has described the death as a grievous loss for him and the rest of Ekweremadu family. He said: “Emeka was a special kind of brother; he was kind, protective, and a loving elder brother who was always there for everyone all the time. “He will be highly missed by the family and I pray the good Lord to grant his soul eternal repose” Meanwhile, the Deputy President of the Senate has cancelled all previously scheduled personal engagements, and announced the postponement of the planned civic reception in honour of the President of the Senate and himself by Enugu West Senatorial District earlier scheduled for Friday, December 28, 2012. A new date for the civic reception will be announced in due course by the organisers. Senator Ekweremadu regrets all inconveniences this could entail.
