{"id":100136,"date":"2022-10-09T08:14:50","date_gmt":"2022-10-09T07:14:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=100136"},"modified":"2022-10-09T08:14:50","modified_gmt":"2022-10-09T07:14:50","slug":"military-nnpc-vow-to-investigate-illegal-pipeline-connections-punish-culprits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/military-nnpc-vow-to-investigate-illegal-pipeline-connections-punish-culprits\/","title":{"rendered":"Military, NNPC Vow To Investigate Illegal Pipeline Connections, Punish Culprits"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1746184796700237322\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari have vowed to investigate the illegal insertions at the Trans-Escravos pipeline in the Yokiri area of Delta State.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nThe duo made the promise after visiting the scene of the insertions on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to newsmen, General Irabor vowed to launch a full-scale investigation into the illegal activities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is an eye-opener and I\u2019m glad that I\u2019ve come here,\u201d the General said.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0\u201cThis is really very sad and we are going to get to the root of it all. There will be an investigation that will go through the entire length of the chain to establish who did this and how long it has been, among several other issues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kyari, on his part, said anyone who is culpable, even among industry practitioners, will be brought to book.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The attachment on our Trans-Escravos line, that illegal connection, is professionally done,\u201d he said.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cAnd the end result is they connected this to an inactive test line which should never carry crude under normal circumstances. And we have seen that this line flows all the way, parallel to the other two active lines, into the Afremo platform.
