{"id":100157,"date":"2022-10-09T17:00:11","date_gmt":"2022-10-09T16:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=100157"},"modified":"2022-10-09T17:00:11","modified_gmt":"2022-10-09T16:00:11","slug":"gunmen-kill-policemen-in-enugu-set-station-ablaze","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/gunmen-kill-policemen-in-enugu-set-station-ablaze\/","title":{"rendered":"Gunmen kill policemen in Enugu, set station ablaze"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1746222543307199147\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Gunmen have reportedly attacked Inyi Police Division in Oji-River Local Government Area of Enugu State killing two policemen on duty.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nThe hoodlums also set the station ablaze after guns and ammunition were carted away.<\/p>\n<p>The attack, Pointblanknews.com gathered occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning at Arum Inyi Police Division.<\/p>\n<p>A video of the attack which has gone viral shows two bodies suspected to be policemen killed lying in front of the station\u2019s perimeter fence.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">In the video, the roof of a storey building police station is seen on fire.<\/p>\n<p>Voices in the background of the video identified one person as a policeman while there was controversy over whether the second person is a policeman or not.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nA resident of the Arum Inyi where the police station is located confirmed the incident to our correspondent.<\/p>\n<p>The resident who spoke on condition of anonymity said, \u201cActually, I left the community on Saturday for Enugu, but I got information from my community a few hours ago that gunmen attacked the police station in my town, and that they killed one police officer. Right now I don\u2019t have further details.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A security alert being circulated on social media platforms in Enugu State capital warned residents of the area and its surroundings to be careful and be security conscious while they move around.<\/p>\n<p>The alert read, \u201cWarning!
