{"id":100348,"date":"2022-10-15T14:13:35","date_gmt":"2022-10-15T13:13:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=100348"},"modified":"2022-10-15T14:13:35","modified_gmt":"2022-10-15T13:13:35","slug":"alleged-misconduct-kebbi-judiciary-suspends-2-chief-magistrates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/alleged-misconduct-kebbi-judiciary-suspends-2-chief-magistrates\/","title":{"rendered":"Alleged Misconduct: Kebbi Judiciary Suspends 2 Chief Magistrates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kebbi State High Court has set up an administrative panel to investigate allegations of alleged misconduct against two Chief Magistrates.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">One of them, Mustapha Umar-Maccido was alleged to have absconded from duty while other Umar Salihu-Kokami was said to have slapped a lawyer and two other persons.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">This is contained in a statement by the Chief Registrar, Kebbi High Court, Hussaini Abdullahi-Zuru issued in Birnin Kebbi.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said that Umar-Maccido would proceed on suspension while Salihu-Kokami has been moved to Headquarters.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cChief Magistrate Mustapha Umar-Maccido was reasonably suspected to have absconded from his duty post, Chief Magistrates Court, Kalgo, since Sept. 2022, after the expiration of his two weeks casual leave.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cHe was alleged to have been in private practice in other jurisdictions even though he is a serving Chief Magistrate.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAccordingly, he is hereby suspended pending the report of an Administrative Committee set up to investigate the matter,\u201d<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Abdullahi-Zuru added that Salihu-Kokani of Chief Magistrates\u2019 Court III, Birnin Kebbi was recalled to the headquarters for judicial misconduct.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said: \u201cThere was an allegation of gross and judicial misconduct against him by the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, that on Sept. 12, he slapped a State Counsel, Abdullahi Bawa Dan Bauchi and two other persons.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe act took place at the premises of Chief Magistrate Court I, Birnin Kebbi, which he was assigned to take over a case against some staff of the Ministry of High Education.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAccordingly, the office of the Chief Registrar hereby directs his recall to the headquarters, pending the outcome of the report of an Administrative Committee set up to investigate the matter.\u201d<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kebbi State High Court has set up an administrative panel to investigate allegations of alleged misconduct against two Chief Magistrates.
