{"id":100620,"date":"2022-10-24T14:35:25","date_gmt":"2022-10-24T13:35:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=100620"},"modified":"2022-10-24T14:35:25","modified_gmt":"2022-10-24T13:35:25","slug":"apc-group-calls-for-campaign-boycott-over-same-faith-ticket","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/apc-group-calls-for-campaign-boycott-over-same-faith-ticket\/","title":{"rendered":"APC Group Calls For Campaign Boycott Over Same-faith Ticket"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1747548374782856978\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Following the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council, some Christians in the party have called for total boycott, reiterating their rejection of a Muslim-Muslim ticket.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The Concerned Northern APC Christians Forum, in a press conference in Abuja, insisted that the ruling party must jettison its current combination of Bola Tinubu and Kassim Shettima to get the support of Christians.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>In his address, general secretary, Lukas Bako, said the inauguration is a mere charade, describing the APC\u2019s chances at the presidency as a failed mission.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>According to him, under the present arrangement, the Christians would suffer untold persecution under an APC government in Nigeria.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Bako added that the Northern Christians stand with the position of the Christian Association of Nigeria, adding that the \u201cChristians in the APC Presidential Campaign Council are betrayers who have sold their conscience in return for a plate of porridge.\u201d<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The group, therefore, urged the APC leadership to \u201cdo needful by replacing the APC vice Presidential Candidate with a Christian before the commencement of the campaigns\u201d.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>They, however, advised Christians in the APC council to resign honourably in protest until the needful is done.<\/p>\n<div id=\"m_389046117627732487ymail_android_signature\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Following the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council, some Christians in the party have called for total boycott, reiterating their rejection of a Muslim-Muslim ticket.
