{"id":100642,"date":"2022-10-24T20:51:52","date_gmt":"2022-10-24T19:51:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=100642"},"modified":"2022-10-24T20:51:52","modified_gmt":"2022-10-24T19:51:52","slug":"nscdc-sacks-15-retires-7-suspends-7-demotes-2-over-extortion-forgery-others","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/nscdc-sacks-15-retires-7-suspends-7-demotes-2-over-extortion-forgery-others\/","title":{"rendered":"NSCDC sacks 15, retires 7, suspends 7, demotes 2 over\u00a0extortion, forgery, others"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Commandant General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has announced the approval by the Civil Defence, Corrections, Fire and Immigration Board (CDCFIB), to discipline a total of 31 officers and men of Corps involved in various degrees of offences.<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nAmong the 30, 15 are dismissed from service, nine (9) are to face compulsory retirement, seven (7) were given suspension while the remaining two are to face interdiction and demotion respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Audi confirmed this during management meeting at the NSCDC national headquarters, Monday, where he vowed and reiterated his determination not to allow errant officers portray the corps in bad light under his leadership.<\/p>\n<p>A statement released by the Corps spokesman, DCC Olusola Odumosu, Monday in Abuja, said the actions of the erring personnel made it imperative to invoke internal disciplinary mechanism by setting up disciplinary committees which carried out investigation and orderly room trial for various offences and spelt out recommendation of different sanctions to the Board for approval.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cConsequently, 31 officers and men involved in different acts deemed unbecoming of personnel of the Corps are to face different sanctions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmong them, 15 are dismissed from service, nine (9) are to face compulsory retirement, seven (7) were given suspension while the remaining two are to face interdiction and demotion respectively,\u201d the statement.<\/p>\n<p>The breakdown of the officers indicates that among the numbers dismissed includes one (1) ASC1, two (2) CCA, three (3) AIC, three (3) CA111, two ( 2) CA11, one (1) CA1, one (1) IC and one (1) AIC face dismissal and prosecution.<\/p>\n<p>The suspended officers include two (2) Deputy Commandants of Corps, three (3) Assistant Commandant of Corps, one (1) Assistant Superintendent of Corps ASCII and one (1) CAII.<\/p>\n<p>The board also approved the interdiction of an Inspector of Corps (IC) and demotion of one (1) other Inspector of Corps (IC).<\/p>\n<p>The 31 affected personnel were sanctioned for offences raging from job racketeering, conspiracy, extortion, forgery, absence without leave (AWOL), dishonesty, economic sabotage among others among others.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFollowing the disgraceful conduct of the concerned officers, the Commandant General has called on all personnel to uphold the Corps\u2019 Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), Code of Ethics, discipline and adherence to Public Service Rules,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>The CG warned that the sanctions meted out to erring personnel should serve as deterrent to others as unethical conducts will not be condoned in the Corps.<\/p>\n<p>He, however promised to reward officers and men who excel in their various assignments as a motivation for good conducts and dedication to service.<\/p><\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Commandant General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has announced the approval by the Civil Defence, Corrections, Fire and Immigration Board (CDCFIB), to discipline a&hellip;<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":99000,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-100642","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
