{"id":101223,"date":"2022-11-10T20:08:18","date_gmt":"2022-11-10T19:08:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=101223"},"modified":"2022-11-10T20:08:18","modified_gmt":"2022-11-10T19:08:18","slug":"drug-cartel-atiku-okowa-campaign-dismisses-tinubu-alibi-says-forfeiture-establishes-link-to-drug-money","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/drug-cartel-atiku-okowa-campaign-dismisses-tinubu-alibi-says-forfeiture-establishes-link-to-drug-money\/","title":{"rendered":"Drug Cartel: Atiku\/Okowa Campaign Dismisses Tinubu Alibi, Says Forfeiture Establishes Link to Drug Money"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Atiku\/Okowa Presidential Campaign Organization after a review of issues arising from the linking of the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to a drug cartel and surmised that the forfeiture of $460,000 by Tinubu to the authorities of the United States of America establishes a connection to drug money.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">A Spokesperson of the campaign organisation, Kola Ologbondiyan in a statement said, &#8220;Campaign maintains that our nation can not afford allowing a candidate with the remotest link to a drug cartel near the Presidential Villa.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;We insist that the mention of Tinubu\u2019s name in a crime bordering on drugs and consequent upon which some monies were forfeited raises a moral question and issues of\u00a0 security threat.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;How for instance will the nation cope with a President who will consistently be blackmailed by a drug cartel?<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;It is also disturbing that Asiwaju minders are running around an ocean of excuses from where they have been fetching what they believe will convince Nigerians.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;It is deductible that the $460,000 removed from the account represented the illicit fund that accrued from the drug.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;That accounts for the reason why no other sum was removed from the account contrary to argument from Tinubu\u2019s minders that the amount represented a tax.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;But if indeed, like his minders have said, Tinubu \u201ctook responsibility\u201d for drugs money, it goes with saying that he must also take responsibility for the consequences of that action.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile, the Head of the Strategic Communication of the campaign organisation, Dele Momodu approached the subject with caution.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;On the issue of\u00a0 Tinubu dealing in drugs<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">I am not a lawyer this is a legal matter, I am also not a judge. But I know that our party, our campaign office may have mandated people to study the case so that they can know how to respond to it. So, I cannot speak about it being a very sensitive case anything to do with drugs is not an easy case.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;I have seen it in the past and I am seeing it again, I don\u2019t know why it suddenly resurfaced. We are sober enough and we respect the rights of other candidates so we are not going to malign them for political reasons.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Don\u2019t forget that our candidate and Bola Tinubu have been friends for so many years, political colleagues and he is also my own friend and brother.
