{"id":101468,"date":"2022-11-20T19:07:26","date_gmt":"2022-11-20T18:07:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=101468"},"modified":"2022-11-20T19:07:26","modified_gmt":"2022-11-20T18:07:26","slug":"crude-oil-thieves-using-technology-to-lay-pipelines-mele-kyari","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/crude-oil-thieves-using-technology-to-lay-pipelines-mele-kyari\/","title":{"rendered":"Crude oil thieves using technology to lay pipelines\u2013 Mele Kyari"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1750034780963231010\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company, NNPC Ltd, Mele Kyari, has revealed that those who engage in oil theft in the Niger Delta use technology to lay pipelines.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Kyari, who spoke on Newsnight on Channels Television over the weekend, said oil thieves succeed in stealing the nation\u2019s crude oil due to collaboration with government and security officials.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The extent of the collaboration which he said remains unknown to authorities within the system, has aided crude oil theft.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cWhen you introduce technology into stealing and this is precisely what they did and when there is a collaboration of people who should not be part of that transactions, you can lay pipelines and no one will see it.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cYou can do it in the night if you have the abilities and ultimately, this is what we think happened. You can lay pipelines for the wrong reasons to abandon or active assets. You will see end-to-end collaboration either by people who are around those assets, people operating the assets or people supposed to provide security.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cYou can eliminate anything. When you find collaborators in the system, then you can get anything done.
