{"id":101766,"date":"2022-12-04T16:27:13","date_gmt":"2022-12-04T15:27:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=101766"},"modified":"2022-12-04T16:27:13","modified_gmt":"2022-12-04T15:27:13","slug":"apc-refused-to-implement-pwd-law-dont-vote-them-2023-atiku","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/apc-refused-to-implement-pwd-law-dont-vote-them-2023-atiku\/","title":{"rendered":"APC refused to implement PWD law, don\u2019t vote them 2023 \u2013 Atiku\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1751292364244281122\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has urged\u00a0 People With Disabilities, PWD, not to vote the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the forthcoming 2023 elections.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nAtiku made this appeal while speaking at the inauguration of PDP\u2019s People With Disabilities National Campaign Council.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nAccording the PDP presidential candidate, the APC has failed to implement the Persons With Disability\u2019s Law despite the passage of the bill by the National Assembly.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cAPC has refused to implement the PWD law and you have no reason to vote APC again. I really want you to identify your membership and tell them to vote for a party that has recognized you and has given them a special place which is PDP.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet me congratulate you on your inauguration into our presidential campaign council as well as the celebration of World Disability Day. You contribute your own quota to the economy and we in the PDP recognize you and that is why we have given you a special place in our party\u2019s constitution and campaign council.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome persons have said the number of persons with disability in Nigeria is 19million, 20 million or 25 million, but let\u2019s assume you are 20million. If we get all of you to vote for us, we don\u2019t need others then. So really, you are important to us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking while inaugurating the PLWD campaign council, the national chairman of the PDP, Iyiocha Ayu, said the party is inaugurating the council because the party identifies with the pain and value of PWDs.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cI am happy that it is out party that is giving these special people this opportunity and if you look at our party, you will find persons with disability in top positions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a senator who is PWD, we have a NWC member who is a PWD, we have a state assembly member as well, and our governorship candidate in Niger, who by God\u2019s grace will win the gubernatorial election. So I want you to take this opportunity seriously and ensure our victory.<\/p>\n<p>The grand patron of the PLWD council, Isa Liman Kantigi noted that Nigerians have no alternative than to go with PDP if they don\u2019t want the country auctioned.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cIt is on record that PWD don\u2019t leave polling unit until they vote, and their votes count, therefore, I want to urge you all to ensure you participate fully in all campaign and mobilization program to ensure our candidate wins the 2023 presidential election.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the DG of the PDP PCC, Governor Aminu Tambuwal, noted that the PDP recover agenda is an all inclusive agenda.<\/p>\n<p>Tambuwal, who was represented by the DDG of the council, Senator Liyel Imoke, also proposed that the D in PWD should be changed to Determination.<\/p>\n<p>In his remark, Ephraim Balarabe, a member of the PWD campaign council, said the it was the first time persons with disability are being recognized in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>Balarabe added that it has shown that the unifier tag of Atiku is more than mere words.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has urged\u00a0 People With Disabilities, PWD, not to vote the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the forthcoming 2023 elections.
