{"id":102024,"date":"2022-12-19T15:00:25","date_gmt":"2022-12-19T14:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=102024"},"modified":"2022-12-19T15:00:25","modified_gmt":"2022-12-19T14:00:25","slug":"herdsmen-attack-enugu-community-again-many-feared-killed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/herdsmen-attack-enugu-community-again-many-feared-killed\/","title":{"rendered":"Herdsmen Attack Enugu Community Again, Many Feared Killed"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">Suspected herdsmen on Sunday morning launched attack in Ebor, Eha-Amufu community in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State, killing several people and in\u00adjuring many.<\/p>\n<p>A youth leader in the community, Gabriel Agbo, said that the attack was deadly as the sus\u00adpects were more than 100 in number.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cToday\u2019s attack was the highest in Eha-Amufu as the number of the herdsmen who trooped in from Benue State outnumbered security operatives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur people were ambushed and killed in the bush like animals, we are yet to confirm the number of the casualties.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n\u201cThe attackers came in as early as 6a.m today and started shooting, even security oper\u00adatives were helpless as they could not confront them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are still combing bush\u00ades to know how many people were killed so I can\u2019t tell you the number of casualties at the moment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cState government and security operatives should come to our rescue, our people are being killed in their fathers\u2019 land. Only one armoured tank was sent in this afternoon and this cannot solve the situa\u00adtion, as we need more help,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>It was reported that over 100 people have been killed in the troubled Eha-Amufu community since January while many are rendered homeless.<\/p>\n<p>When contacted, Enu\u00adgu State Police Command spokesman, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, who confirmed the attack said, \u201cSketchy report at my disposal shows that there was an attack.
