{"id":102202,"date":"2022-12-29T19:10:51","date_gmt":"2022-12-29T18:10:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=102202"},"modified":"2022-12-29T19:10:51","modified_gmt":"2022-12-29T18:10:51","slug":"im-fed-up-gandujes-daughter-seeks-to-end-16-year-marriage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/other-news\/im-fed-up-gandujes-daughter-seeks-to-end-16-year-marriage\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018I\u2019m fed up\u2019 \u2014 Ganduje\u2019s daughter seeks to end 16-year marriage"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">Asiya-Balaraba Ganduje, daughter to the governor of Kano, has filed for divorce from Inuwa Uba, her husband.<\/p>\n<p>According to a source, Asiya-Balaraba approached a Sharia court in Kano to demand an end to their 16-year-old marriage.<\/p>\n<p>It is understood that the case was heard by Khadi Abdullahi Halliru, the judge, in his chamber due to the personalities involved and the sensitivity of the matter.<\/p>\n<p>In her petition before the court, the governor\u2019s daughter said she is \u201cfed up\u201d with her marriage, and prayed the court to approve her request for dissolution.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nAsiya-Balaraba also told the court to apply the Islamic principles of khul\u2019i to dissolve the marriage.<\/p>\n<p>In his reaction, Uba opposed his wife\u2019s request for the dissolution of their marriage.<\/p>\n<p>The businessman insisted that he still loves his wife, and prayed the court to give them more time to resolve the matter amicably.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nIn his ruling, the judge adjourned the case to January 5 for the continuation of trial.<\/p>\n<p>Halliru also asked Uba to utilise the two weeks given to him to settle the matter.<\/p>\n<p>During the court session, journalists were reportedly barred by the judge, citing the personalities involved in the case.<\/p>\n<p>Asiya-Balaraba is said to have been at loggerheads with her parents for backing her husband despite the corruption allegations against him.<\/p>\n<div class=\"yj6qo\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"adL\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Asiya-Balaraba Ganduje, daughter to the governor of Kano, has filed for divorce from Inuwa Uba, her husband.
