The proposed Campiagn by the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubarkar in Rivers state may have suffered yet another hiccup as state governor, Nyesom Wike has allegedly ordered the police attached to Government House to stop any political gathering of Atiku’s supporters in any part of the state including their personal houses, Pointblank\u00a0news.com<\/a>\u00a0learnt.<\/div>\n

A top PDP leader in the state, Hon. Amb. Lucky Dumka Chineme told our reporter that the said order was also given to the Local Government Chairmen of all the 23 LGAs in Rivers State to also stop the mobilisation of Atiku supporters on any day the PDP Presidential rally is to hold.<\/div>\n

According to Hon. Chineme, “Gov. Wike also directed the Local Government Chairmen to station local vigilantes in checkpoints across the state and arrest those suspected to be attending Atiku’s rally, including stopping them in their various villages where the buses will carry them from.”<\/div>\n

He said that the Camp Commandant of Rivers State Government House, SP London, who hails from Delta State, has vowed to implement the order to the later and has instructed all the LGA Council Chairmen to call him anytime to execute the order as directed by Gov. Wike.<\/div>\n

“Remember, this same SP. London, led the arrest of Farrah Dagogo at PDP Secretariat in Rivers State and also went to the hospital where Farrah Dagogo was lying on the sick bed and took him to court. The same SP. London, masterminded the recent arrest of Atiku’s Supporters in GRA where 20 of them were charged to court and remanded till after election and he further led the Government House Police to destroy the proposed venue of the Atiku’s rally at Rainbow Town, which led to the assassination attempt on the life of Alabo Dr Abiye Sekibo, the DG of the Atiku\/Okowa Presidential Campaign, Rivers State.”<\/div>\n

Hon. Chineme said that he is worried over the silence of Police authorities in Nigeria despite all these complaints, even as he calls on the Nigeria people to call the governor to order.<\/div>\n
