{"id":103286,"date":"2023-02-24T19:46:10","date_gmt":"2023-02-24T18:46:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=103286"},"modified":"2023-02-24T19:46:10","modified_gmt":"2023-02-24T18:46:10","slug":"apc-suspends-senator-orji-kalu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/apc-suspends-senator-orji-kalu\/","title":{"rendered":"APC suspends Senator Orji Kalu"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1758723291062412230\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Few hours to the National Assembly polls, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended the Chief Whip of the Senate and Senator representing Abia North senatorial district, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu over alleged anti-party activities.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">In the letter dated February 21, Kalu was suspended for acts of disobedience and gross anti-party activities and his suspension is to be implemented with immediate effect.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Kalu,who is a former Governor of Abia state\u00a0 has been at with the leadership of Abia APC which heightened since the emergence of Chief Ikechi Emenike as the governorship candidate of the party in the state<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The party had accused Kalu of undermining the APC in the state and supporting the governorship ambition of his younger brother,Mr. Mascot Uzor Kalu who is the flag bearer of the Action Peoples Party,(APP).<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">In the suspension letter\u00a0 signed by the Chairman of the Abia APC Disciplinary Committee, Paul Nwabuisi; State Secretary, Chief Chidi Avajah and the State Chairman, Dr Kingsley Ononogbu, said Kalu has remained unrepentant and without remorse despite several warnings against the party.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The party further explained that Kalu&#8217;s suspension came after thorough investigations and recommendations of the Disciplinary Committee set up by his Igbere Ward A chapter, Bende Local Government Area of the party<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">It added that Kalu&#8217;s suspension was in consonance with Article 21B(i-v) of the APC Constitution, which he violated.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;You are hereby suspended from the All Progressives Congress (APC).&#8221;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Recall that Kalu had in an\u00a0 interview on Arise Television stated that Emenike has never informed him that he is running for the governorship position of the state.
