{"id":103885,"date":"2023-03-27T05:58:50","date_gmt":"2023-03-27T04:58:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=103885"},"modified":"2023-03-27T05:58:50","modified_gmt":"2023-03-27T04:58:50","slug":"benue-pdp-suspends-ayu-with-immediate-effect","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/benue-pdp-suspends-ayu-with-immediate-effect\/","title":{"rendered":"Benue PDP suspends Ayu with immediate effect"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1761456815187442945\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The crisis rocking the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party in Benue State worsened on Sunday as the ward executive of the party slammed suspension on the party\u2019s National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nAyu\u2019s suspension is coming barely a few days after the party\u2019s National Working Committee had dragged the State Governor, Samuel Ortom, to its disciplinary committee on alleged anti party activities.<\/p>\n<p>The Ward Executive of the party at Igyorov Ward of Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State suspended the national chairman on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing journalists on behalf of Kashi Philip, the Ward Chairman, the Ward Secretary, Mr Vangeryina Dooyum, explained that Senator Ayu was suspended for alleged anti party activities.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nAccording to the Secretary, the decision to suspend the National Chairman was reached after the ward leadership reviewed his conduct at the end of the just concluded general elections.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nHe said, \u201cWe observed with utmost dismay that Dr. Iyorchia Ayu who is the National Chairman of the PDP worked against the success of the party in Igyorov Council Ward.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is on record that he has also failed to pay his Annual Subscription Fees as provided under Section 8 (9) of the Constitution of the PDP, 2017 (As amended).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFurther investigation also revealed that he did not vote during the Governorship and State Assembly elections held on March 18, 2023.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was also discovered that most of his closest allies worked for the opposition party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, and hence, the abysmal performance of the PDP in Igyorov Ward.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn view of the foregoing, we hereby pass a vote of no confidence on Dr. Iyorchia Ayu and suspend him as a member of our party with immediate effect.The suspension takes effect from March 24, 2023.\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The crisis rocking the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party in Benue State worsened on Sunday as the ward executive of the party slammed suspension on the party\u2019s National Chairman, Senator&hellip;<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":98991,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[17],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-103885","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-exclusive"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
