{"id":104126,"date":"2023-04-07T12:39:57","date_gmt":"2023-04-07T11:39:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=104126"},"modified":"2023-04-07T12:39:57","modified_gmt":"2023-04-07T11:39:57","slug":"gunmen-abduct-former-nasarawa-deputy-governor-onje-gye-wado","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/gunmen-abduct-former-nasarawa-deputy-governor-onje-gye-wado\/","title":{"rendered":"Gunmen abduct former Nasarawa deputy governor Onje Gye-Wado"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1762516056372816841\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Some gunmen have abducted a former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Onje Gye-Wado on Friday.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nGye-wado served a term as Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State when Abdullahi Adamu the current Chairman of the All Progressives Congress was Governor.<\/p>\n<p>The state Police Public Relations officer, Ramhan Nansel, who confirmed the abduction\u00a0in a statement said the gunmen broke into his residence in Gwagi village, \u00a0Wamba Local Government Area, \u00a0and took him away \u00a0in the early hours of Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Nansel said that a police tactical squad and other security operatives have been deployed for a search and rescue operation for the victim.<\/p>\n<p>The statement added that \u00a0Commissioner of Police has also \u00a0engaged the military, vigilantes, and local hunters to collaborate with the Police tactical teams in the ongoing operation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, CP Maiyaki Baba, has reassured the general Public, especially the family of Prof Onje Gye-wado, that an effort is ongoing to rescue the victim who was abducted by yet to be Identified hoodlums in the early hours of Friday, as Police tactical operatives have intensified search and rescue operation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInformation received by the command indicated that on 7\/4\/2023 at about 12:30 a.m., unknown gunmen invaded Gwagi village in Wamba LGA, broke into the residence of one Prof. Onje Gye-wado and abducted him to an unknown destination.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUpon receipt of the information, Police operatives attached to Wamba Division swiftly moved to the scene, but the hoodlums had fled with the victim before their arrival.\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some gunmen have abducted a former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Onje Gye-Wado on Friday.
