{"id":104166,"date":"2023-04-10T21:04:13","date_gmt":"2023-04-10T20:04:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=104166"},"modified":"2023-04-10T21:04:13","modified_gmt":"2023-04-10T20:04:13","slug":"gunmen-abduct-hotelier-in-anambra-demand-n50m-ransom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/other-news\/gunmen-abduct-hotelier-in-anambra-demand-n50m-ransom\/","title":{"rendered":"Gunmen Abduct Hotelier in Anambra, Demand N50m Ransom"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1762820111365728439\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">A middle-aged man has been reportedly abducted by gunmen in Ekwulobia community, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra state.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nThe victim identified as Alexander Nwosu popularly known as \u201cUyoo\u201d who is said to own a petrol station and hotel in the community was kidnapped while at home with his wife and children.<\/p>\n<p>The whereabouts of the victim, kidnapped since March 31, 2023 is still unknown.<\/p>\n<p>A family source however said the abductors demanded N50million ransom.<\/p>\n<p>The source said, \u201cThe masked assailants, numbering about 10, invaded the victim\u2019s house in a Toyota Sienna vehicle and shot heavily into the air for several minutes before gaining entrance into the compound and took him away in the presence of his wife and children.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe pressure sent panic to the whole community. His residence is located along the Isuofia-Ekwulobia Road, near the Ekwulobia Police Station.<\/p>\n<p>Since the incident, his wife has not been seen and her telephone line has not been connecting.<\/p>\n<p>But last Friday, the captors called the family members and demanded for N50m ransom after which they have not heard from them again.<\/p>\n<p>When contacted, Anambra Police spokesman, Tochukwu Ikenga simply replied: \u201cNo such report like that before me, please.\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A middle-aged man has been reportedly abducted by gunmen in Ekwulobia community, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra state.
