{"id":104171,"date":"2023-04-11T14:04:18","date_gmt":"2023-04-11T13:04:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=104171"},"modified":"2023-04-11T14:04:18","modified_gmt":"2023-04-11T13:04:18","slug":"nysc-disowns-the-certificate-of-service-being-flaunted-by-enugu-governor-elect","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/nysc-disowns-the-certificate-of-service-being-flaunted-by-enugu-governor-elect\/","title":{"rendered":"NYSC disowns the certificate of service being flaunted by Enugu governor-elect"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">Enugu State Governor-elect, Peter Mbah is in a big trouble as the National Youth Service Scheme, (NYSC) has denied issuing the Certificate of Service being flaunted by him.<\/p>\n<p>In the build-up to the March 18, 2023 governorship election, Mbah of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was accused by some opposition political parties of presenting a forged NYSC certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).<\/p>\n<p>However, the Enugu State PDP Campaign Council denied the alleged NYSC certificate forgery, describing it as \u201ca conjecture of an indolent opposition and the last kick of a dying horse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The campaign council in a statement by its Director of Public Communications and spokesperson, Nana Ogbodo, said the opposition in the state had realised that they had no prospects in the governorship election and therefore, resorted to smear campaigns.<\/p>\n<p>The council insisted that there was no truth whatsoever in the allegation.<\/p>\n<p>However, the NYSC has denied issuing Mbah\u2019s certificate in response to an application for the confirmation of the document by one Mary Nneoma Elijah.<\/p>\n<p>The NYSC stated this in its response letter entitled: \u201cRe: Application for Information on the NYSC Status of Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and Confirmation of the Certificate attached herein\u201d: This Application is pursuant to Section 1 of Freedom of Information Act, 2011\u2019 and signed by its Director of Corps Certification, Ibrahim A. Muhammad.<\/p>\n<p>In the letter dated February 1, 2023, NYSC said that Mbah\u2019s certificate with Certificate Number: A808297 was not issued by the Scheme.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am directed to refer to your letter dated 23 November, 2022 on the above subject and to convey Management\u2019s delight for compliance with the provision of NYSC Act regarding presentation of the Certificate of National Service or Exemption Certificate by employees\/prospective employees holding Degree and HND Certificates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are pleased to inform you that the Certificate of National Service belonging to Mbah Peter Ndubuisi with Certificate Number: A808297 forwarded for verification was not issued by the NYSC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we look forward to close working ties with your organisation, please accept the assurances of the Director-General\u2019s warmest regard.&#8221;<\/p><\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Enugu State Governor-elect, Peter Mbah is in a big trouble as the National Youth Service Scheme, (NYSC) has denied issuing the Certificate of Service being flaunted by him.
