{"id":104408,"date":"2023-04-24T05:11:53","date_gmt":"2023-04-24T04:11:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=104408"},"modified":"2023-04-24T05:11:53","modified_gmt":"2023-04-24T04:11:53","slug":"apc-dissolves-presidential-campaign-council","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/apc-dissolves-presidential-campaign-council\/","title":{"rendered":"APC dissolves Presidential Campaign Council"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">The ruling All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC PCC) has dissolved itself after over seven months of operation.<br \/>\nThe dissolution is to enable the transition and inauguration committees effectively carry out their assignments ahead of the May 29 inauguration ceremony of President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.<\/p>\n<p>APC PCC was inaugurated in September 2022 to prosecute the 2023 presidential elections.<\/p>\n<p>The Director General of the council, Governor Simon Bako Lalong and the Secretary, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke announced the dissolution of the council in a jointly signed statement in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>The statement noted that the chairman of the Presidential Campaign Council, President Muhammadu Buhari; the President-elect, Bola Tinubu and other leaders, thanked all council members, leaders and supporters for working assiduously for the resounding victory of the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.<\/p>\n<p>It reads in part: \u201cSince the campaign council began in September 2022, we have witnessed an unprecedented, relentless, and engaging mobilisation of our members nationwide and in the diaspora towards securing the majority popular votes for the Tinubu\/Shettima Presidential ticket.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe journey has been a worthy one with our hard-won victory. The credit goes to all our members particularly, the leaders and members of the various campaign directorates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe would like to express our deepest appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR), for his unwavering support and leadership throughout the campaign. We could not have achieved this level of success without his single-mindedness, commitment, and forthrightness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, we have concluded that it is in the best interest of the campaign and its stakeholders for us to dissolve our council with immediate effect. This has become necessary to retune us towards the May 29, 2023, inauguration of the President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu\u2019s administration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe process of transitioning into a new era of a Renewed Hope is underway and all our energies and activities must reflect the principles underlying this process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Commending all the council members, the council Director-General and Secretary said, \u201cWe hope that you will all continue to stay involved in Nigeria\u2019s political process and to advocate for issues that you believe in.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur democracy is stronger when we all participate in the political process with patriotism.
