{"id":104475,"date":"2023-04-27T21:12:08","date_gmt":"2023-04-27T20:12:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=104475"},"modified":"2023-04-27T21:12:08","modified_gmt":"2023-04-27T20:12:08","slug":"efcc-arraigns-ondo-speaker-two-others-for-fraud","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/efcc-arraigns-ondo-speaker-two-others-for-fraud\/","title":{"rendered":"EFCC arraigns Ondo speaker, two others for fraud"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1764361302356979298\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, arraigned the Speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly, Oleyelogun David Bamidele and two others before Justice Adegboyega Adebusoye of the Ondo State High Court for fraud.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nThe two other accused individuals are Felemu Olusegun Gudubankole, Chairman of the House Committee on Tertiary Institutions, and Oyadeji Oludeji, Secretary to the House Committee on Tertiary Institutions.<\/p>\n<p>The three defendants were charged on two counts of conspiracy and using their official positions to gain corrupt or unfair advantages.<\/p>\n<p>According to the allegations, they conspired among themselves to engage in corrupt practices by receiving and retaining the sum of N2,440,000.00 that was meant for a seminar they never attended.<\/p>\n<p>During the arraignment, the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecution counsel, K.U. Udus, then requested the court to fix a trial date and remand the defendants.<\/p>\n<p>However, the defendants\u2019 counsel, F.E.
