{"id":104482,"date":"2023-04-28T04:41:28","date_gmt":"2023-04-28T03:41:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=104482"},"modified":"2023-04-28T04:41:28","modified_gmt":"2023-04-28T03:41:28","slug":"fg-suspends-removal-of-fuel-subsidy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/fg-suspends-removal-of-fuel-subsidy\/","title":{"rendered":"FG suspends removal of fuel subsidy"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1764364746153759651\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The National Economic Council (NEC) has suspended the planned removal of subsidy on petroleum products by the end of President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s administration.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nThe Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed disclosed, this on Thursday while briefing State House correspondents at the end of the NEC meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting was presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>According to the minister, the NEC concluded in its meeting that it was not a favourable time for the action.<\/p>\n<p>She stated that the Council deliberated on the matter and resolved that it could not be removed for now, but it equally agreed on the need to continue the discussion on the matter and the necessary preparatory work in conjunction with states and representatives of the incoming administration.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Economic Council (NEC) has suspended the planned removal of subsidy on petroleum products by the end of President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s administration.
