{"id":106323,"date":"2023-07-21T16:01:17","date_gmt":"2023-07-21T15:01:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=106323"},"modified":"2023-07-21T16:01:17","modified_gmt":"2023-07-21T15:01:17","slug":"there-would-be-anarchy-if-rule-of-law-is-truncated-peter-obi-lawyer-fires-president-tinubu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/there-would-be-anarchy-if-rule-of-law-is-truncated-peter-obi-lawyer-fires-president-tinubu\/","title":{"rendered":"There Would Be Anarchy If Rule Of Law Is Truncated \u2013 Peter Obi Lawyer Fires President Tinubu"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">The Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, have dismissed a written address by President Bola Tinubu regarding the February 25 presidential elections.<\/p>\n<p>They labelled the President\u2019s response as a sign of \u201cdesperation taken too far.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Recall that in the address, the President\u2019s representatives, led by Wole Olanipekun, challenged the claims made by Obi\u2019s witnesses, including Clarita Ogah, a supposed cloud engineer at Amazon.<\/p>\n<p>They warned the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) that a misinterpretation of the law related to lawful votes cast in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, could lead to chaos and anarchy.<\/p>\n<p>The petitioners, in response, suggested that the only path to anarchy is the truncation of the rule of law.<\/p>\n<p>Obi\u2019s lead counsel, Livy Uzoukwu, filed a final written address stating, \u201cThis is a cheap, misguided, and destructive blackmail clearly intended to target the country\u2019s judicial and constitutionalism. It also aims at cannibalising our democracy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Uzoukwu further condemned the President\u2019s address, stating, \u201cDesperation taken too far can be extremely dangerous.
