{"id":106781,"date":"2023-08-04T16:42:06","date_gmt":"2023-08-04T15:42:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=106781"},"modified":"2023-08-04T16:42:06","modified_gmt":"2023-08-04T15:42:06","slug":"fg-enforces-no-work-no-pay-policy-amid-resident-doctors-strike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/fg-enforces-no-work-no-pay-policy-amid-resident-doctors-strike\/","title":{"rendered":"FG enforces \u201cno work, no pay\u201d policy amid resident doctors\u2019 strike"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">The Federal Government has ordered the management of federal tertiary hospitals to commence the enforcement of the \u201cno work, no pay\u201d policy against the striking resident doctors.<\/p>\n<p>The directive, contained in a letter signed by the Director of Hospital Services, Andrew Noah, entails withholding regular salaries from doctors who are participating in the ongoing strike.<\/p>\n<p>The directive, issued through the Director of Hospital Services, expresses the government\u2019s dismay at the continuation of the strike despite multiple attempts at resolution.<\/p>\n<p>Noah disclosed that conciliatory meetings involving various stakeholders, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the National Assembly, failed to reach an agreement.<\/p>\n<p>He also stated the government\u2019s commitment to uphold the principles of the \u201cno work, no pay\u201d policy, as previously outlined in circular Ref. No.58598\/8.1\/II\/182 dated June 22, 2016, by the Federal Ministry of Health.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am directed to inform you that the Federal Ministry of Health has instituted the policy of \u201cNo work, No Pay\u201d against the striking resident doctors in line with circular Ref.
