{"id":10680,"date":"2013-03-12T17:56:18","date_gmt":"2013-03-12T16:56:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=10680"},"modified":"2013-03-12T17:56:18","modified_gmt":"2013-03-12T16:56:18","slug":"revealed-the-letter-that-nailed-the-apcmay-miss-registration-deadlineconsiders-apcn-adc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/revealed-the-letter-that-nailed-the-apcmay-miss-registration-deadlineconsiders-apcn-adc\/","title":{"rendered":"Revealed: The Letter that Nailed the APC\u2026May miss registration deadline\u2026considers APCN, ADC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Even though the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has refused to reveal the names of those who applied for the registration of a party with same acronym with the All Progressive Congress (APC), Pointblanknews.com has stumbled on the letter that has turned the coalition\u2019s reveling into a nightmare.<\/p>\n<p>The new group, according to INEC records, is called African Peoples\u2019 Congress (APC).<\/p>\n<p>There are however indications on Tuesday that the coalition may opt for All Democratic Congress (ADC) or All Peoples\u2019 Congress of Nigeria (APCN). But there is a snag: to get approval the coalition must hold a convention during which they will officially adopt the new name. This convention may not come earlier than May making the hurdle higher.<\/p>\n<p>INEC spokesman, Kayode Idowu\u00a0 who confirmed on Monday that another group had beat the coalition to it,\u00a0 refused to give any name of sponsors or solicitors behind the news application. He had simply told reporters \u201c what the law requires is that if a group applies and the law has already provided for things to be met, like a checklist, it is not a matter of INEC cherry picking or preferences\u2026once a group meets that checklist it is registered with that name\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The coalition had been crying foul, pointing fingers at the ruling Peoples\u2019 Democratic Party (PDP) for being behind the stunt.<\/p>\n<p>The letter addressed to the INEC chairman, dated February 28, 2013, was signed by Barrister Nwokorie Samuel Chinedu.
