{"id":106881,"date":"2023-08-12T18:25:17","date_gmt":"2023-08-12T17:25:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=106881"},"modified":"2023-08-12T18:25:17","modified_gmt":"2023-08-12T17:25:17","slug":"arewa-youths-fume-over-non-confirmation-of-el-rufai-as-minister-warn-senate-security-agencies-against-tempting-them","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/arewa-youths-fume-over-non-confirmation-of-el-rufai-as-minister-warn-senate-security-agencies-against-tempting-them\/","title":{"rendered":"Arewa youths fume over non-confirmation of El-Rufai as Minister, warn Senate, Security agencies against \u2018tempting them.\u2019\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) has warned that the patience of the Youth must not be tested further with the refusal to confirm the nomination of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai for appointment as Minister of the Federal Republic.<\/p>\n<p>A statement by AYCF president Yerima Shettima said the Youth and indeed northern Nigeria felt humiliated by the news that out of the 48 names submitted to the Senate by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, El-Rufai is among the only three whose confirmations were differed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe regret to note that the targeting of Nasir El-Rufai for such irreverent treatment is part of a wider agenda being pursued by certain dubious political interests to deny the north and the younger generation of Nigerians fair representation in the coming cabinet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is suspicious that El-Rufai, who is among the best, if not the best of all the names submitted by the President should be among the only three that could not be confirmed without justifiable reasons.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe consider it deceptive for the Senate to give security checks as reason for not confirming El-Rufai because it is common knowledge that the ministerial nomination list passed through security scrutiny before getting to the Senate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the risk of overstating the case, we can boldly say that El-Rufai, Hannatu Musawa, Bello Matawalle and Festus Keyamo are by far the best representation of the young generation of Nigerians included in the list.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will therefore amount to unwarranted provocation to Kaduna State, to the North and to the Nigerian youth for El-Rufai not to be confirmed for flimsy considerations,\u201d Shettima said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"yj6qo\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"adL\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) has warned that the patience of the Youth must not be tested further with the refusal to confirm the nomination of former Kaduna State&hellip;<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":106882,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-106881","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
