{"id":107017,"date":"2023-08-16T17:44:15","date_gmt":"2023-08-16T16:44:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=107017"},"modified":"2023-08-16T17:44:15","modified_gmt":"2023-08-16T16:44:15","slug":"recover-stolen-govt-property-gov-lawal-charges-state-anti-corruption-tribunal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/recover-stolen-govt-property-gov-lawal-charges-state-anti-corruption-tribunal\/","title":{"rendered":"Recover Stolen Govt Property, Gov Lawal Charges State Anti-Corruption Tribunal"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, on Tuesday inaugurated Chairmen and members of the Zamfara State Anti-Corruption Tribunal, State Rent Tribunal, State Lands Allocation and Development Rules and Regulations Enforcement Tribunal.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">A statement by the Governor\u2019s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, said that the ceremony took place at the Executive Council Chamber, Government House, Gusau.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The statement explained that the appointment is in accordance with the provisions of section 4 (7) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) which empowers the Zamfara State House of Assembly to make laws for the good governance of the State, particularly on items that are not within the Exclusive Legislative List.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">It said this gave rise to the establishment of the tribunals and appointment of chairmen and members.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The statement said, \u201cGovernor Lawal charged the chairman and members of the Anti-Corruption, Rent and Land Allocation tribunals to discharge their duties diligently with the utmost sense of responsibility, integrity, competence, and trust.\u201cSection 15 (5) of the Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), as part of the political objectives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, enjoins Nigeria as a nation and invariably the states to take necessary steps to abolish corrupt practices and abuse of power.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cThe Governor also lamented the damage done to democracy and socio-economic well-being of the people due to corruption and abuse of office.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cChairmen and members of the tribunals were not inaugurated to witch-hunt anybody for political reasons but to concentrate on how to recover, if any, monies and property of the good people of Zamfara State that might have been diverted to individual pockets or ownership as the case may be.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Justice Nasiru Umar Gummi is Chairman of the State Anti-Corruption Tribunal.<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, on Tuesday inaugurated Chairmen and members of the Zamfara State Anti-Corruption Tribunal, State Rent Tribunal, State Lands Allocation and Development Rules and Regulations Enforcement Tribunal.&hellip;<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":107018,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-107017","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
