{"id":107098,"date":"2023-08-18T20:08:45","date_gmt":"2023-08-18T19:08:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=107098"},"modified":"2023-08-18T20:08:45","modified_gmt":"2023-08-18T19:08:45","slug":"all-eyes-on-the-judiciary-should-not-offend-a-right-thinking-person-atedo-peterside","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/all-eyes-on-the-judiciary-should-not-offend-a-right-thinking-person-atedo-peterside\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018All Eyes On The Judiciary\u2019 Should Not Offend A Right-Thinking Person \u2013 Atedo Peterside"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1774591358836480431\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Founder of Stanbic IBTC and Anap Foundation, Atedo Peterside, on Friday, made a case for the \u201cAll Eyes on the Judiciary\u201d mantra, saying it should not be offensive to a right-thinking person.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nThe phrase gained popularity in recent months, appearing on billboards around Abuja amid proceedings of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, where the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)\u2019s Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party (LP)\u2019s Peter Obi are challenging the victory of President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).<\/p>\n<p>Tinubu was declared the winner of the keenly contested February 25 election after scoring 8,794,726 votes against Abubakar\u2019s 6,984,520 votes and Obi\u2019s 6,101,533.<\/p>\n<p>After Tinubu\u2019declaration, Obi and Atiku headed to court with the mantra \u201cAll Eyes on the Judiciary\u201d gaining traction.<\/p>\n<p>While many have faulted it,\u00a0Peterside took to X, formerly Twitter, to justify the phrase.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the record, methinks #AllEyesOnTheJudiciary is a neutral slogan that should ordinarily not offend a right-thinking &amp; sincere person in a civilised society,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can understand someone rejecting a negative slogan like \u201cLet us turn our noses up at the Judiciary\u201d.
