{"id":107601,"date":"2023-09-06T21:46:26","date_gmt":"2023-09-06T20:46:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=107601"},"modified":"2023-09-06T21:46:26","modified_gmt":"2023-09-06T20:46:26","slug":"breaking-lp-rejects-presidential-election-tribunal-judgement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/breaking-lp-rejects-presidential-election-tribunal-judgement\/","title":{"rendered":"BREAKING: LP rejects Presidential Election Tribunal judgement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Expectedly, the Labour Party (LP) has outrightly rejected the judgement delivered on Wednesday by the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC).<\/p>\n<p>The Court of Appeal sitting as\u00a0PEPC dismissed petitions by the party and its Presidential Candidate in the 2023 poll, Peter Gregory Obi, stating that the petitioners did not prove their cases against the election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.<\/p>\n<p>But the National Publicity Secretary of the LP, Comrade Obiora Ifoh, stated the party\u2019s position in a press statement made available to journalists in Abuja shortly after PEPC had delivered its verdict.<\/p>\n<p>According to the statement:\u00a0 \u201cThe Labour Party watched with dismay and trepidation the dismissal of petitions by the five-man panel of the Presidential Election Petition Court led by Justice Haruna Tsammani today and we reject the outcome of the judgment in its entirety because justice was not served and it did not reflect the law and the desire of the people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNigerians were witnesses to the electoral robbery that took place on February 25, 2023, which was globally condemned but the Tribunal in its wisdom refused to accept the obvious.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe salute the doggedness of our team of lawyers who fearlessly exposed the wrath in our system.
