{"id":107648,"date":"2023-09-08T21:59:42","date_gmt":"2023-09-08T20:59:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=107648"},"modified":"2023-09-08T21:59:42","modified_gmt":"2023-09-08T20:59:42","slug":"tribunal-judgment-against-lp-a-step-towards-reclaiming-nigeria-abure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/tribunal-judgment-against-lp-a-step-towards-reclaiming-nigeria-abure\/","title":{"rendered":"Tribunal judgment against LP a step towards reclaiming Nigeria \u2013 Abure\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1776493136773851538\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Labour Party on Friday has said that the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal judgment that ruled against the Labour Party and it&#8217;s candidate in the February 25 presidential election was a step towards reclaiming the country.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nIt also said that the party\u2019s participation in the 2023 general election has changed the political landscape in the country, as it revealed that \u201cevery step we have taken and would take leads us to our freedom, leads us to taking back our country, and it leads us to taking back Nigeria.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Julius Abure, Labour Party National Chairman, in a statement, also revealed plans by LP to sustain her current momentum, even as he called on all the opposition party\u2019s \u201csupporters to sustain this momentum to take over the country and to reposition it for greatness. It is not an easy task but I am happy that we have started, we have put our hands on the plough and we will definitely not look back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The statement further disclosed that in the last election, Labour Party produced 35 members of the House of Representatives, 8 Senators and several State Houses of Assembly members.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOut of their support for the party, we have in our kitty today a governor, 35 members of the House of Representatives, 8 distinguished Senators and several House of Assembly members.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur participation in the 2023 general election, no doubt, has changed the political landscape in the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll these achievements by the Labour Party could not have been possible if not for the support of members of the public, the Obidient family and well meaning and right thinking Nigerians who genuinely wanted change for the country.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n\u201cI am indeed very appreciative of their efforts, their financial contributions and moral support and how they came out to vote for the party in the presidential election which we believe we won irrespective of whatever the tribunal has said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to admonish and appeal to our people, we should not be daunted at all. Nelson Mandela in his book, \u2018A Long Walk To Freedom\u2019 said every step we take leads us to our freedom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday in the words of Mandela, every step we have taken and would take leads us to our freedom, leads us to taking back our country, and it leads us to taking back Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven the judgment is also a step towards reclaiming our country. I am therefore admonishing all our supporters not to be discouraged at all.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are preparing our papers and we are definitely moving from here to the Supreme Court. We have protested and they said don\u2019t protest, \u2018go to Court\u2019 and we are in court. Today all eyes are on the judiciary.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor us as a party, we are going to sustain this momentum and we are also calling on all our supporters to sustain this momentum to take over the country and to reposition it for greatness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is not an easy task but I am happy that we have started, we have put our hands on the plough and we will definitely not look back.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nI am therefore admonishing our supporters to remain committed to the movement and remain committed to Nigeria.
