In anticipation of the judgement by the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal in\u00a0 Nasarawa State, over 1,000 elderly women from all 13 Local Government areas of the state came together for a prayer rally in support of the candidate of the people\u2019s Democratic Party, Dr. David Ombugadu.<\/div>\n

\nThe women, clad in black attires, sang emotional songs in the Hausa language while holding placards with several inscriptions during the rally.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the PDP\u2019s secretariat in Lafia on Sunday, one of the women leaders of the Nasarawa Coalition for Justice, Hanatu John, explained that the rally was staged to pray to God to intervene in the case involving Dr. Ombugadu and governor Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressives Congress.<\/p>\n

She said the prayers of the elderly women, who endured the scorching sun, and prolonged fasting would resonate with the judges.<\/p>\n

She said, \u201cAll residents of the state including members of the All Progressives Congress are aware that the PDP candidate, Dr. David Ombugadu won the March 18, 2023 election, not the incumbent governor, Abdullahi Sule as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese women you see here are over 1,000 in number. They voluntarily came from all parts of the state to pray for our governorship candidate because they are tired of the APC-led government. They no longer want to be deceived, that is why they are all gathered here today in solidarity with the PDP.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are appealing that the tribunal and the judiciary as a whole should do the right thing on the day of the judgement. They should review the results collated from across the 13 LGAs of the state and announce the actual winner of the governorship election.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ombugadu had dragged Governor Sule to court after INEC declared him the winner of the March 18, 2023 governorship election\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0state.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
