\nElder statesmen\u00a0 and leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Deacon Elijah Afolabi has called on retired military personnel and critical stakeholders to air their view on the controversy trailing the academic records of President Bola Tinubu.<\/p>\n

Deacon Afolabi made the call in a personal statement issued by him on Monday, noting that to have a Nigeria of collective dream, those who mean well and fought to preserve the territorial integrity of the nation must as a matter of necessity, intervene on the forgery allegations made against Tinubu by former Vice President, Bola Tinubu.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo save Nigeria from the grip of Draculas who are hell bent on sucking her to death, our elder statesmen and political leaders must make a definite pronouncement at this point on this protracted legal battle, especially the cases at the District Court of Illinois, USA. It\u2019s embarrassing and totally unacceptable for a president of our dear country, Nigeria, to be protesting against the release of his academic records if the said records are genuine,” he stated.<\/p>\n

He further stated that the ongoing court proceedings in the USA has exposed some noticeable flaws in Nigeria\u2019s judicial system owing to the transparent nature of the process.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur judiciary is gradually losing her credibility. The intrigues and shenanigans all in a bid to cover up the truth\u00a0 going on in CSU in far away Chicago in United States is becoming a national scandal and the need for urgent\u00a0 pronouncements to\u00a0 salvage what is left of the integrity of our judiciary.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe cannot afford another military intervention. Our\u00a0 democracy must be sustained.\u00a0 Nigeria is bigger than any individual. There is no hiding place any more, truth is truth any day and you can not do anything against the truth that\u00a0 is now in the public domain, \u201dhe added<\/p>\n

He concluded that the certificate forgery controversy is not new to Nigerians, insisting that the Chicago State University scandal has been a running issue since 1999 when Festus Keyamo, the current Minister of Aviation and Chief Gani Fawehinmi (of blessed memory) took the matter to court.<\/p>\n

He further chided the ruling All Progressives Congress\u00a0 saying that its desperation to cover up the scandal has left many Nigerians thinking that Tinubu has something to hide.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is now clear that no one can run from his shadows, no matter the level of craftiness and cover up. Truth is like water, it will definitely find its level.\u00a0 Let’s rise\u00a0 to save our country. Posterity will record what we do at this moment. We are either for Nigeria or against Nigeria,” he concluded.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
