\nAs part of measures to assist the government in using technology to tackle the menace of banditry, an indigenous firm, Elite Group of Companies has commenced the production of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles UAVs, also known as drones and other security equipment within Nigeria.<\/p>\n

It said the strategic initiative followed an agreement with foreign Original Equipment Manufacturers OEM partners and that it would help to reduce capital flight.<\/p>\n

Group Managing Director of the company, David Adesanya, told Vanguard that the establishment of the assembly and production line represents a pivotal step towards improving security infrastructure in Nigeria, contributing to the modern manufacturing industry, and generating various socio-economic benefits for the continent.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the primary objectives of this initiative is to significantly reduce the extended delivery time that has been associated with waiting for foreign equipment manufacturing companies to produce and deliver drones to Nigerian clients.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy assembling and producing these drones locally, we aim to provide a swifter response to the security challenges facing the nation by making a wide range of technology solutions available for surveillance, reconnaissance, and other purposes.<\/p>\n

\u201cAdditionally, this endeavour is set to create job opportunities for the country\u2019s large pool of unemployed youth, thereby contributing to a reduction in unemployment rates. It is anticipated that this initiative will not only bolster Nigeria\u2019s Gross Domestic Product GDP but also enhance foreign exchange earnings, as Elites Group plans to export its UAVs and drones to countries in need of these vital security tools\u201d, he stated.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
