{"id":109248,"date":"2023-11-18T11:24:16","date_gmt":"2023-11-18T10:24:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=109248"},"modified":"2023-11-18T11:24:16","modified_gmt":"2023-11-18T10:24:16","slug":"unknown-gunmen-kill-two-nigerian-policemen-injure-one-in-ebonyi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/unknown-gunmen-kill-two-nigerian-policemen-injure-one-in-ebonyi\/","title":{"rendered":"Unknown Gunmen Kill Two Nigerian Policemen, Injure One In Ebonyi"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Two policemen attached to the Ebonyi State Police Command have been killed by unknown gunmen.<\/p>\n<p>This was confirmed by a statement from the police spokesperson in the state, SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, adding that one other was injured in the attack.<\/p>\n<p>The incident took place at Nwofe, a sub-burb of the Abakaliki metropolis in the Izzi Local Government Area, on Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The victims were said to be part of a patrol team that was on surveillance in the area.<\/p>\n<p>The statement read, \u201cToday 17\/11\/2023 around\u00a0 8.300am, operatives of the command on patrol at Nwofe Road at the outskirt of Abakaliki were attacked by armed hoodlums using a tinted Highlander vehicle with registration number unknown.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwo of the operatives were fatally wounded, while one is currently receiving medical treatment at the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe state Commissioner, Augustina Ogbodo,\u00a0 on receiving the distress call immediately dispatched tactical teams to the scene.
