{"id":109769,"date":"2023-12-19T22:25:11","date_gmt":"2023-12-19T21:25:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=109769"},"modified":"2023-12-19T22:25:11","modified_gmt":"2023-12-19T21:25:11","slug":"gunmen-kidnap-aibom-judge-driver-kill-orderly","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/gunmen-kidnap-aibom-judge-driver-kill-orderly\/","title":{"rendered":"Gunmen kidnap A\u2019Ibom judge, driver, kill orderly"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1785745649541545389\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Gunmen on Monday kidnapped a high court judge in the Oron Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Justice Joy Uwanna, and her driver.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nIt was gathered that her orderly was killed in the attack which occurred along Uyo-Okobo Road.<\/p>\n<p>The chairman Oron branch of the Nigeria Bar Association, Torosco Eyene, who confirmed the development to our correspondent on Tuesday said the judge was kidnapped along Okobo axis on her away to Uyo after a court sitting.<\/p>\n<p>He disclosed that members of the association have scheduled a meeting with the state Commissioner of Police and the Department of State Services on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cThe sitting Judge in Oron was kidnapped on Monday on her way back to Uyo after a court sitting. By Wednesday, we are moving down to Uyo to meet with the Commissioner of Police, Olatoye Durusinmi and the DSS on the issue\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Odiko Macdon, described the incident as unfortunate, adding that the CP has ordered a discreet investigation into the incident<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cIt\u2019s very unfortunate that a judge who presides over high court has been kidnapped.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe command under the CP, Olatoye Durusinmi, has ordered a discreet investigation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we speak, no stone will be left unturned, resources will be harnessed to ensure that Her Lordship is reunited to her family any moment from now.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have spoken with family of the deceased officer who, until his death was an orderly to the judge.
