{"id":110316,"date":"2024-01-27T13:02:53","date_gmt":"2024-01-27T12:02:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=110316"},"modified":"2024-01-27T13:02:53","modified_gmt":"2024-01-27T12:02:53","slug":"lagos-pdp-chairman-kidnapped-abductors-demand-n200m","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/lagos-pdp-chairman-kidnapped-abductors-demand-n200m\/","title":{"rendered":"Lagos PDP chairman kidnapped, abductors demand N200m"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1789176613612766368\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lagos State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Philip Aivoji, has been kidnapped.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nPointblanknews.com learnt that Aivoji was kidnapped on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Ogere area along Lagos\/Ibadan Expressway.<\/p>\n<p>The party chairman was reportedly coming from the PDP South-West Zonal meeting held in Ibadan on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The abductors are demanding N200m ransom<\/p>\n<p>Another member of the Lagos State PDP Exco who was said to have escaped is presently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.<\/p>\n<p>The Lagos State PDP Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Hakeem Amode, confirmed the abduction in a statement on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAivoji was abducted on Thursday, January 25 at about 6.00 p.m. on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway while returning from a stakeholders\u2019 meeting in Oyo State convened by Governors Seyi Makinde (Oyo) and Ademola Adeleke (Osun).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is disheartening that kidnapping has become a prevalent issue in our country, and the government\u2019s inability to address this menace is deeply concerning.<\/p>\n<p>Police kill wanted kidnapper, 2 bandits in Abuja<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe abduction of Aivoji underscores the pressing need for decisive actions from the government and stakeholders to eradicate this menace.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAivoji\u2019s abduction was a violent incident, and his current whereabouts or any communication from the abductors remain unknown.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe implore the governments of Oyo, Ogun, and Lagos states alongside security agencies, to expedite efforts and secure his safe return to his family and well-wishers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The PDP spokesman said that with increased efforts from security agencies, Aivoji would be rescued from these criminals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe call on the public to support initiatives aimed at ending this threat to innocent lives,\u201d he said<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, Dr Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, the PDP 2023 governorship candidate, who expressed shock over the news of kidnapping of the party chairman, demanded urgent action against insecurity.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lagos State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Philip Aivoji, has been kidnapped.
