Former Lagos State Governor Bola Tunibu has said that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, recognises All Progressive Congress, APC, as the intellectual property of the political parties that decided to merge.<\/p>\n
Tinubu made the remarks while answering questions from newsmen after he paid a courtesy visit on Gov. Rabi\u2019u Kwankwaso of Kano State in Kano on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
“If a baby is born, you cannot commit abortion,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n
According to him, INEC has already recognised the name APC as the property of the merged political parties.<\/p>\n
“APC is the intellectual property of the merged parties, so to even say that INEC will frustrate their effort was very illogical.<\/p>\n
“I believe that INEC is headed by an intellectual element, Prof Attahiru Jega. He is from an intellectual community, university.<\/p>\n
“The fact that he knows what intellectual property means, he will not tamper with it,” he said.<\/p>\n
He also expressed confidence that APC would remain with the merged political party at the end of the day, “being an intellectual property of the merging group, it must get protection\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n
He urged the Federal Government to dialogue with Boko Haram, but on condition that justice must be done “for those with blood in their hands\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n
He called for the immediate scrapping of the Ministry of Police Affairs, as it was nothing but a duplication of the role of Police Affairs Commission.<\/p>\n
“If you look at it very critically, you will come to understand that the ministries of police affairs and internal affairs are a waste.<\/p>\n
“The number of policemen in the country are inadequate, so also the strength and training are inadequate,” he said.<\/p>\n
NAN reports that Tinubu was in Kano to commiserate with the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, over the attack on his motorcade on Jan.19.<\/p>\n
