{"id":111177,"date":"2024-03-30T14:44:52","date_gmt":"2024-03-30T13:44:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=111177"},"modified":"2024-03-30T14:44:52","modified_gmt":"2024-03-30T13:44:52","slug":"senate-may-soon-recall-ningi-from-three-month-suspension","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/senate-may-soon-recall-ningi-from-three-month-suspension\/","title":{"rendered":"Senate may soon recall Ningi from three-month suspension"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Senate President Godswill Akpabio has announced that the Nigerian Senate is set to re recall Senator Abdul Ningi from his three\u2019month suspension.<\/p>\n<p>Akpabio disclosed this while answering questions from reporters on arrival from the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) meeting in Geneva, Switzerland.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the Senate would soon review the three-month suspension it slammed on Ningi for claiming that the 2024 budget was allegedly padded with the sum of N3.7trillion.<\/p>\n<p>This is coming up after Ningi gave Akpabio 7-day-ultimatum to restore him or face legal action.<\/p>\n<p>This wss contained in a letter written by Ningi\u2019s counsel, Femi Falana SAN.<\/p>\n<p>Akpabio said the matter would be resolved like a family affair and hopefully Ningi would return to take his seat earlier than expected.<\/p>\n<p>Akpabio said: \u201cIt is a parliamentary decision. I have not seen the letter yet. But Senator Ningi is one of us. I mean what is suspension?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe that in a few days he will join us. So, there is no problem. It would be resolved amicably.
