{"id":111302,"date":"2024-04-08T20:21:33","date_gmt":"2024-04-08T19:21:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=111302"},"modified":"2024-04-08T20:21:33","modified_gmt":"2024-04-08T19:21:33","slug":"gunmen-kill-30-security-volunteers-in-niger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/other-news\/gunmen-kill-30-security-volunteers-in-niger\/","title":{"rendered":"Gunmen kill 30 security volunteers in Niger"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tragedy struck in Niger State as no fewer than 30 members of a Volunteer Security outfit called \u201cYan Sa Kai\u201d were killed by gunmen suspected to be bandits at Dogon-Dawa community in Mariga local government area of the State.<\/p>\n<p>It was gathered that the incident occurred on Saturday, April 6, 2024, in the morning, during a clash between the said security outfit and the suspected bandits in the area.<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Pointblanknews.com source said that the \u201cYan Sa Kai\u201d were trailing the suspected bandits\u2019 movement into their hideout and unexpectedly ambushed them, leading to casualties from both sides after a serious exchange of gunfire.<\/p>\n<p>The source said that there were casualties from the suspected armed bandits\u2019 side but refused to mention the exact number of the bandits injured or killed.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nThe Executive Chairman of Mariga Local Government Council, Hon. Abbas Kasuwar Garba, who confirmed the incident in an interview by telephone, expressed concern as residents prepared for the farming season sequel to peace.
