{"id":111520,"date":"2024-04-22T19:45:32","date_gmt":"2024-04-22T18:45:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=111520"},"modified":"2024-04-22T19:48:26","modified_gmt":"2024-04-22T18:48:26","slug":"edo-guber-inec-releases-final-list-of-candidates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/edo-guber-inec-releases-final-list-of-candidates\/","title":{"rendered":"Edo Guber: INEC releases final list of candidates"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1797061288412443212\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has announced the final list of candidates for the forthcoming Edo State Governorship Election.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">This is even as the Commission said that the political parties are permitted to start campaign in public from Wednesday 24th April 2024.The campaigns will end at midnight on Thursday 19th September 2024.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement by Sam Olumekun,<br \/>\nNational Commissioner &amp; Chairman,<br \/>\nInformation and Voter Education Committee, INEC disclosed that 17 political parties have fielded candidates for the election out of which 16 are male while one is female.<\/p>\n<p>Olumekun said the final list has been published at INEC\u2019s office in Edo State and also uploaded to the Commission\u2019s website and social media platforms for public information.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Commission is pleased to announce the publication of the final list of candidates for the Edo State Governorship Election. Following the initial primaries, the Commission published the personal particulars of the Governorship candidates and their running mates in our State and Local Government offices in Edo State.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOverall, seventeen (17) political parties are fielding candidates in the election. Sixteen (16) are male while one (1) is female.
