\u00a0The Police Command in Kano said it had foiled\u00a0 an attempt by\u00a0 suspected thugs to invade the residence of the state\u2019s All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, Prince Abdullahi Abbas.<\/div>\n

\nThis is contained in a statement\u00a0 by the command\u2019s Spokesman\u00a0 SP Abdullahi Kiyawa on Sunday in Kano.<\/div>\n
\nKiyawa said that on May 31, at around 6 pm, a distress call was received from Chiranchi junction in Gwale Local Government Area of the state.<\/div>\n
\n\u201cIt was reported that the thugs, armed with dangerous weapons, were pelting people with stones and attempting to enter the APC chairman\u2019s house ,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n
\nKiyawa explained a team led by the Divisional Police Officer, Gwale Division esponded swiftly\u00a0 foiling the attempted invasion and restoring normalcy to the area.<\/div>\n
\nHe said no arrest was made but\u00a0 \u00a0investigation has revealed that the incident was a fight between two rival gangs, with the masterminds identified as Abdul\u2019Yassar Alias Jonny, Birbiri, and Jinjiri Aljan.<\/div>\n
\nKiyawa said efforts are currently underway to apprehend the suspects, saying a \u201cround-the-clock\u201d patrol has been intensified in the area to prevent further disturbances.<\/div>\n
\n\u201cThe police are working tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of all citizens in Kano State, and this swift and decisive action is a testament to their commitment to protecting the community,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n
\nHe assured the residents that the command was on top of the situation, adding, \u2018We have\u00a0 mapped out security measures to enable residents move on with their legitimate activities without threats to lives and property.<\/div>\n
\n\u201dWe are\u00a0 appealing to all law-abiding and peace-loving\u00a0 residents to volunteer timely and credible information on the movement of suspected characters in their midst for prompt security actions,\u201d he added.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
