Troops of Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), in a series of operations targeting terrorist activities at Wulgo, have successfully rescued 34 women and children from the clutches of Boko Haram terrorists.<\/p>\n
Troops neutralized one terrorist during clearance operations conducted in the Mazuri, Itsari, Mudu, and Maleri villages on fringes of southern Lake Chad in Nigeria on 15 June 2024.<\/p>\n
Spokesman of MNJTF, Lt. Col Abdullahi Abubakar who made this known on Monday, said the hostages were successfully rescued under Operation Lake Sanity 2.<\/p>\n
\u201cRelatedly on 17 June 2024, 3 fighters from the Islamic State\u2019s West Africa Province (ISWAP) based in the Jabilaram camp, a secluded islet on Lake Chad, surrendered to the vigilant troops of Task Force Wulgo.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe fighters, identified as Babakura Abubakar (20 years old), Abacha Kyari (28 years old), and Mohammad Adam (29 years old), are currently undergoing interrogation for further action.<\/p>\n
\u201cMoreover, in our continued air assault operations aimed at dismantling terrorist operations across the Lake Chad area, an air interdiction mission was conducted on 9 June 2024 at Kollaram.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis operation destroyed 3 suicide vehicle-borne IEDs poised for a major terrorist attack.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis precise strike exemplifies the efficacy and capabilities of Troops Contributing Countries air force units in neutralizing high-value terrorist targets and mitigating potential threats.<\/p>\n
