{"id":112965,"date":"2024-07-04T19:40:38","date_gmt":"2024-07-04T18:40:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=112965"},"modified":"2024-07-04T19:40:38","modified_gmt":"2024-07-04T18:40:38","slug":"you-cant-win-plateau-elections-from-nasarawa-pdp-tells-apc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/you-cant-win-plateau-elections-from-nasarawa-pdp-tells-apc\/","title":{"rendered":"You Can\u2019t Win Plateau Elections From Nasarawa, PDP Tells APC"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1803662662349884635\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taunted leaders of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) who recently converged on Lafia, Nasarawa State capital, for a strategy meeting ahead of 2027, saying elections can only be won on Plateau soil and not in Lafia.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nIt will be recalled that APC leaders from Plateau State met in Lafia, Nasarawa State for a reconciliatory engagement while also\u00a0 planning to reposition the party for greater successes ahead 2027 general election in the state.<\/p>\n<p>A statement by the acting PDP publicity secretary, Alh. Mairake Yaro, from Jos, Plateau State, described the APC meeting as a gathering of failed politicians who can not deliver their wards.<\/p>\n<p>He said the meeting predictably ended in a meaningless gyration with a free lunch in the government house as the\u00a0 only highlight.<\/p>\n<p>The spokesman however\u00a0 said the PDP is curious about the opposition\u2019s sudden preference for Lafia over Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe shudder to ask? Have they fallen out of favor with Mr. President, or support base shrinking faster than expected\u201d?<\/p>\n<p>PDP further said the story of APC, while in power from 2015-2023, was the worst nightmare of Plateau people in their entire history, adding that it led to their overwhelming defeat in the 2023 general elections.<\/p>\n<p>The Plateau ruling party further said APC seemed poised for another defeat in 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Yaro also advised the APC leaders to apologise to the people of Plateau State for the wasted years marked by stagnation and retrogression.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the progress achieved in one year under Governor Caleb Mutfwang leadership has unsettled them to the extent of holding a reconciliatory meeting in Lafia, one can only wonder where his achievements in the second year will drive them to\u201d?<\/p>\n<p>He added that Governor\u00a0 Mutfwang would\u00a0\u00a0 graciously approve the\u00a0 Azi Nyako Youth Centre in Jos for the next APC reconciliatory meeting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis visionary leadership is driving sustainable development and improving the lives of the common people in the state.
