He began his address by acknowledging his predecessor, Rishi Sunak, commending him for his achievement as the first British Asian Prime Minister and recognizing the \u201cextra effort\u201d required for such a milestone.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe country has voted decisively for change, for national renewal and the return of politics to public service,\u201d Sir Keir declared.<\/p>\n
He spoke about the public\u2019s disengagement with politics, citing the growing gap between the sacrifices made by people and the service they receive from politicians.<\/p>\n
Sir Keir reached out to voters who did not support the Labour Party, assuring them that his government would serve everyone.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy government will serve you. Politics can be a force for good \u2013 we will show that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Addressing concerns about the future, he stated, \u201cIf I asked you now whether you believed that Britain will be better for your children, I know too many of you will say no \u2013 and so my government will fight until you believe again.\u201d<\/p>\n
He invited all citizens to join his \u201cgovernment of service\u201d in the mission of national renewal, concluding his speech with, \u201cOur work is urgent and we begin it today,\u201d to resounding cheers from the crowd.<\/p>\n
