Mohammed.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0 properties are: No.8b, Bedwell Road, Ikoyi;\u00a0<span dir=\"ltr\">No.3, Force Road<\/span>, Ikoyi, Lagos;\u00a0<span dir=\"ltr\">No.14, Glover Road<\/span>, Ikoyi, Lagos; No.6, Marina,\u00a0 Ikoyi, Lagos and\u00a0<span dir=\"ltr\">No. 28, Point Road<\/span>, Apapa, Lagos.<\/p>\n<p>Investigation revealed that the properties were fraudulently misappropriated and the proceeds of the sale diverted for personal use.<\/p>\n<p>The judge had, on March 4, 2024, ordered the interim forfeiture of the\u00a0 properties\u00a0 reasonably suspected to be proceeds of an unlawful activity and also directed the publication of the order in a national newspaper for any interested person to show cause why they should not be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>Moving the application for the final forfeiture of the properties on Wednesday, Mohammed told the court that the Commission had complied with the order of the court regarding the publication.<\/p>\n<p>He also submitted that \u201c it will be in the interest of justice for the court to grant the prayers being sought and also order the final forfeiture of the property to the Federal Government.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The judge, after listening to the submissions of the EFCC\u2019 s counsel, ordered the final forfeiture of the five properties to the Federal Government in favour of NAPL.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Justice Chukujekwu Aneke of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, ordered the final forfeiture of five properties linked to a former Managing\u00a0 Director,&hellip;<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":113277,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-113276","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
