{"id":113977,"date":"2024-08-20T06:30:38","date_gmt":"2024-08-20T05:30:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=113977"},"modified":"2024-08-20T06:30:38","modified_gmt":"2024-08-20T05:30:38","slug":"breaking-presidency-finally-unveils-new-presidential-jet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/breaking-presidency-finally-unveils-new-presidential-jet\/","title":{"rendered":"BREAKING: Presidency finally unveils new presidential jet"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1807855471838236590\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Presidency, on Monday, unveiled the new Airbus A330 purchased for President Bola Tinubu.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nThe Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, released the pictures of the presidential jet via his verified X handle on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The presidential aide stated that the new jet replaces the 19-year-old Boeing B737-700(BBJ) bought during the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.<\/p>\n<p>Onanuga, however, did not reveal the amount spent by the Nigerian government to acquire the new presidential jet.<\/p>\n<p>According to Onanuga, the new jet saved Nigeria huge maintenance and fuel costs, running into millions of dollars yearly.<\/p>\n<p>He wrote, \u201cPresident Tinubu departed Abuja Monday for Paris, France, using the new Airbus A330, which replaced the 19-year-old Boeing B737-700(BBJ) bought under the Presidency of President Olusegun Obasanjo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe new plane bought far below the market price saves Nigeria huge maintenance and fuel costs, running into millions of dollars yearly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe recommendation to replace the B737-700(BBJ) followed an investigative hearing by Nigeria\u2019s parliament that questioned the plane\u2019s safety record and cost efficiency, especially after it malfunctioned during a trip to Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Nigerian Senate\u2019s security and intelligence committee recommended replacing the ageing aircraft in the presidential fleet to reduce downtime and operational expenses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe new plane is spacious and is furnished with state-of-the-art avionics, customized interior and communications system.\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Presidency, on Monday, unveiled the new Airbus A330 purchased for President Bola Tinubu.
