{"id":114155,"date":"2024-08-29T21:07:59","date_gmt":"2024-08-29T20:07:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=114155"},"modified":"2024-08-29T21:07:59","modified_gmt":"2024-08-29T20:07:59","slug":"enugu-lg-poll-ganduje-threatens-ensiec-with-lawsuit-over-apc-factions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/enugu-lg-poll-ganduje-threatens-ensiec-with-lawsuit-over-apc-factions\/","title":{"rendered":"Enugu LG Poll: Ganduje threatens ENSIEC with lawsuit over APC factions"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1808733079597383155\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje has threatened to drag the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission, ENSIEC, to court for failure to recognize the Ugochukwu Agballah-led faction of the party in the scheduled September 21 council polls in the state.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nA faction of the party in the state led by Alphonsus Nwafor had announced the suspension of Agballa and other executive members of the party in the state and obtained a court injunction restraining Agballah from parading as Chairman of the APC in Enugu state.<\/p>\n<p>ENSIEC had in response continued to deal with the Nwafor led faction of the APC for the purposes of the LG election,\u00a0 but in a letter to the state electoral commission, the APC National Chairman, Ganduje accused the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) of undermining the party in Enugu state.<\/p>\n<p>Ganduje reiterated that Ugochukwu Agballah remains the Chairman of APC in Enugu state and should serve as the bridge between the Party and ENSIEC.<\/p>\n<p>Ganduje threatened to file a lawsuit against the Commission if it continues to deal with \u201cfaceless persons unknown to the party with regard to the forthcoming LG poll in the state.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a letter dated August 26, 2024, which he signed and addressed to Prof. Christian C. Ngwu, Chairman of ENSIEC, Ganduje alleged that the Commission has continued to deal with a faceless group as the elected officers of APC in Enugu state without verification, diligent enquiry or official communication with or from the Party.<\/p>\n<p>The letter reads, \u201cOur attention has been drawn to your Commission\u2019s meddling with, and undue reference with the Management, Control and Administration of the All Progressives Congress as a political party especially in Enugu State by Commission\u2019s recognition and acceptance of a group of faceless persons who are unknown to the party as the authorized officers of the All Progressives Congress in Enugu State in violation of the Constitution of APC and the extant laws in Nigeria\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour Commission has on its own accord chosen to engage with this group of faceless people who were neither elected officers of the party nor accredited representatives of the party for the conduct of the October 5th 2024 Local Government Elections in Enugu State.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe state that the actions of your Commission violate the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020 under which the All Progressives Congress was lawfully registered.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKindly be informed that the Hon Ugochukwu H.
