Abdulsalami Abubakar, and former National Security Adviser, Gen. Aliyu Gusau.<\/p>\n<p>Sources revealed that Babangida and his fellow generals had been waiting for Obasanjo\u2019s arrival at IBB\u2019s mansion before the session commenced.<\/p>\n<p>Although specific details of the discussions were not officially disclosed, reports suggest that the talks centred around the rising security challenges across the country.<\/p>\n<p>Another key issue speculated to be on the agenda was the Peoples Democratic Party\u2019s (PDP) refusal to sign a peace accord ahead of the hotly contested Edo governorship election, slated for Sept. 21.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting, which reportedly lasted two hours, concluded with former President Obasanjo returning to Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>He arrived at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Airport at approximately 4:30 PM aboard a Gulfstream 5 aircraft, which was believed to have been chartered for the occasion.<\/p>\n<p>After the closed-door discussions, Obasanjo departed Minna at around 6:30 PM in the same aircraft, accompanied by protocol officers from the Niger State Government.<\/p>\n<p>The Niger state government provided transportation for the former president, escorting him both to and from the IBB residence.<\/p>\n<p>Obasanjo\u2019s departure from Minna was noted at around 7 PM as he headed back to Abuja.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three of Nigeria\u2019s former military rulers have met behind closed doors in Minna, Niger state, to discuss the nation\u2019s current security situation and political climate.
