{"id":114586,"date":"2024-10-08T20:26:42","date_gmt":"2024-10-08T19:26:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=114586"},"modified":"2024-10-08T20:26:42","modified_gmt":"2024-10-08T19:26:42","slug":"court-affirms-julius-abure-as-labour-party-national-chairman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/court-affirms-julius-abure-as-labour-party-national-chairman\/","title":{"rendered":"Court affirms Julius Abure as Labour Party National Chairman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday, declared Julius Abure as the substantive National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP).<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nJustice Emeka Nwite, in a judgment, affirmed the Abure-led leadership and the March 2024 Nnewi Convention that produced the national leadership of the LP.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nJustice Nwite ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognise Abure as the legitimate chairman, overriding INEC\u2019s earlier stance that Abure\u2019s leadership was invalid.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nPointblanknews.com recalls that INEC had argued that the LP\u2019s national convention, which was conducted, violated the Constitution and Electoral Act, and that the party failed to meet legal requirements for holding the convention.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nThe electoral empire had said that Abure was no longer the national chairman of the party, stating that Abure\u2019s tenure expired in June 2024.<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday, declared Julius Abure as the substantive National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP).
