The Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, has filed a \u20a65 billion lawsuit against Yoruba Nation activist Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, in an Oyo State High Court.<\/div>\n

\nAdams claims Igboho illegally recorded and publicly released a private phone conversation between him andu<\/div>\n
individual, without his consent, which he says has damaged his reputation.<\/p>\n

Adams, in suit number M\/1006\/2024, seeks the enforcement of his fundamental rights, citing Section 37 of Nigeria\u2019s 1999 Constitution (as amended), which guarantees the right to privacy.<\/p>\n

His statement emphasizes that releasing private phone conversations without consent is \u201cunlawful, , and unconstitutional,\u201d calling Igboho\u2019s actions \u201creckless and injurious\u201d to his position as the Aare Ona Kakanfo.<\/p>\n

According to Adams, Igboho publicly shared the recorded conversation on social media in April 2024, creating \u201cserious embarrassment\u201d for him. Adams asserts that his private rights uwere violated, and he seeks exemplary damages to address the harm he believes was done.<\/p>\n

The case, which underscores the boundaries of privacy in Nigeria, will test the limits of individuals\u2019 rights to record and release conversations without the consent of all parties involved.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
