{"id":115075,"date":"2024-11-09T19:10:19","date_gmt":"2024-11-09T18:10:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=115075"},"modified":"2024-11-09T19:10:19","modified_gmt":"2024-11-09T18:10:19","slug":"15-die-as-new-terror-group-lakurawa-clashes-with-kebbi-locals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/15-die-as-new-terror-group-lakurawa-clashes-with-kebbi-locals\/","title":{"rendered":"15 die, as new terror group, Lakurawa clashes with Kebbi locals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By Ibrahim Hassan-Wuyo, BIRNIN-KEBBI<\/p>\n<p>In Kebbi State, over 15 people died when the natives of Mera community clashed with the new terrorist group, Lakurawa.<\/p>\n<p>The new group allegedly has links to ISIS that operates in the Sahel.<\/p>\n<p>According to a BBC Hausa report, the incident happened on Friday near Mera community in Augie Local Government Area of Kebbi State.<\/p>\n<p>A source told the BBC Hausa that the crisis ensued when members of the Lakurawa terrorist group met a local herder and attempted to rustle his animals.<\/p>\n<p>How it started<br \/>\n\u201cThe herder ran to the community and raised alarm, and community members marched to the location where they engaged the terrorists in a fight whi\u00e7h led to the killing of 15, while many were injured.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe locals succeeded in killing some of the terrorists, and injured others.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut the survivors among the terrorists carried their casualties and left.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Deputy Governor of Kebbi State has paid a condolence visit on the people of Mera, and was accompanied by the Commissioner of Police and the Emir of Argungu,\u201d the eyewitness said.<\/p>\n<p>A media aide to the Governor of Kebbi State, Abdullahi Idris Zuru, on Saturday, confirmed on phone of the existence of the terror group in some parts of the state.<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nHe assured that the authorities were containing the threat posed by the Lakurawa.<\/p>\n<div class=\"yj6qo\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"adL\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Ibrahim Hassan-Wuyo, BIRNIN-KEBBI In Kebbi State, over 15 people died when the natives of Mera community clashed with the new terrorist group, Lakurawa.
