The People\u2019s Democratic Party (PDP) generated an impressive N11.5 billion from the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms, as well as from levies and dues from aspirants and office holders, between February and March 2023.<\/p>\n
Of this amount, N7.9 billion was allocated to fund state congresses, the national convention, and various campaigns during the 2023 general elections.<\/p>\n
The party\u2019s audited financial report, submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in accordance with the Electoral Act, reveals a breakdown of these figures. It highlights that revenue from the sale of Presidential, Senatorial, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly forms constituted the bulk of income.<\/p>\n
A closer look at the expenses shows that N3.1 billion was directed towards state congresses and the national convention. In addition, N1.7 billion was distributed to states and candidates participating in the elections.<\/p>\n
Further expenses included N72.07 million allocated for allowances to party agents, N233.4 million for training, workshops, and lectures, and N166.5 million for personnel costs. The hiring of buses accounted for N27.7 million.<\/p>\n
Travel expenses, including aircraft charters, amounted to N693 million, while N370 million was allocated for door-to-door mobilization.<\/p>\n
The report, prepared by the party\u2019s Director of Finance, Ismaila Yunusa Alkali, and signed by Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum, outlines the PDP\u2019s income and expenditure for the period.
